It was a scorching hot day on 5th August last year and the air con in the car was on full blast as I made my merry way to The Rosewood in Holborn.
Now, I was particularly excited about this wedding morning prep as I had come to know the bride, Jen, rather well over the years. Jen is a fantastic photographer and we have curated quite the friendship having worked together in the events industry. With an extensive collection of superb wedding and event pros at her fingertips, Jen had her wedding supplier list down to a tee.
The wedding morning preparations took place in a gorgeous suite at The Rosewood, London and I had the privilege of looking after Jen and her mother, Gillian, in the hair and makeup department.
Jen didn’t want anything too structured or formal and opted for relaxed beach waves created from a conical wand which was then arranged in a half up, half down hairstyle. We added a touch of sparkle by accessorising the style with a gorgeous rose gold hair vine pin which we had especially made for her.
Jen has beautifully clear skin and we kept her makeup relatively neutral with the addition of some matte bronzer and peachy tones on her cheeks. I used matte brown and cashmere shadows on her eyelids along with a soft powder line along the top and bottom lashes. Her lip shade was one of my faves, ‘shy girl’ from MAC.
After a lot of fun during the beauty prep (and a rather emotional dress unveiling in the suite!) Jen was finally off to Mayfair to meet her lovely fiance, Charlie, to tie the knot!
It was really important to Jen to find a wedding venue that she had not yet worked at (which was no easy task!) and after a lot of searching, she finally fell for the elegance and charm of Dartmouth House – A stunning venue as I think you can see from this photo:
Jen, I was totally honoured when you asked me to look after you on the morning of your big day and I am so grateful to have been able to share the experience with you.
Wishing you and Charlie a huge Mazel tov once and again I hope you have many ridiculously happy years together!
