How far will you travel?
We can travel anywhere, however, there may be additional travelling time charged for on top of the petrol fee. Please let us know the full postcode and time you need to be ready by at the time of enquiry so we can quote this for you.
How soon should I book with you?
Ideally as soon as you are ready to. We get booked 1 to 2 years in advance in some cases but we can also cater for fairly last minute bookings so just get in touch to see who we have available for you.
Do I have to have a Hair and/or Makeup Trial before my wedding?
No, you don’t have to but it is strongly advised. The aim of the trial is to try out a few different hair/makeup styles so that you make the right choice for your wedding day. If you know exactly what look you want then at the very least it’s a good test run for you to know exactly how it will work on the wedding day and make sure you are 100% happy with the look so there are no surprises on the day!
How soon should I book my hair and/or makeup trial?
We recommend trials anywhere from 1-3 months prior to your wedding day. This time frame usually ensures that you know what you will be wearing on the day (which may sway hairstyling decisions in particular) and have had time to think about what hair and/or makeup styles you would like, considered the addition of any hair accessories. It also means that you don’t have your trial so far in advance that you change your mind.
I am not sure how I want my hair or makeup, can you send me some pictures?
The best thing you can do is have a google around or set yourself up a Pinterest board. We have lots of images on the website as well as Facebook and Instagram so feel free to have a look around those. Be realistic in your search, finding hairstyles that you like in similar tones to your own hair and be mindful of heavily airbrushed and retouched images of makeup.
Where and when will the Hair and/or Makeup trial take place?
Weekends are extremely busy for Camilla and the team so ideally, we like to see our lovely brides in the weekdays or weekday evenings wherever possible and we can relax and dedicate the full time to finding your perfect look for your special day. Camilla sees her clients at the studio in Highgate, North London but can travel for an additional cost. The team predominately travel to see clients but can alternatively come to the studio or see you at their home.
What is the maximum number of people you can do on my wedding day?
The most Camilla or her team would take on by themselves is the bride plus 3 or 4 others for both hair and makeup but we have a fantastic, strong team so we can look after as many of the bridal party and potentially guests if you need us to by bringing additional artists. Time constraints, however, may call for more than one artist for fewer people in which case an additional charge may be incurred.
How long with the trial take?
There is no time limit on the trial but usually, a hair and makeup trial will last around 2 hours. 1 hour for hair or makeup on its own.
Is Hair or Makeup done first on the wedding day?
If hair is being washed for a blow-dry then the hair will need to be done first, otherwise, we usually apply makeup first so as not to ruin any styling or sweeping fringe placement by moving the hair to apply makeup. It’s not the end of the world if you prefer to work it the other way around!
Do you offer Discounts?
We do offer discount packages when the bride plus 3 others book and there are occasionally seasonal and midweek discounts as well so please ask at the time of enquiry.
How do I secure my wedding date?
We require a £100-£300 deposit to secure your booking dependant on the size of the booking and amount of artists required.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please see our terms and conditions.
What Brands do you use?
As firm believers that not one size fits all, we also believe that there are so many wonderful products on the market created by a whole host of different brands and as trends and technology keeps changing so do the products in our makeup and hair kits. Camilla and her team use a wide variety of makeup brands such as Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, Nars, MAC, Urban Decay, Illamasqua… the list goes on!
I have sensitive skin/problem areas, will makeup be suitable for me?
Yes, we have lots of different products in our makeup armoury and a lot of hypoallergenic formulas as well as a few tricks and miracle products to combat problem areas. If you have any severe allergies or products that you know do not work for you then please let us know beforehand otherwise we can discuss your skin type at the trial.
Do you do Airbrush makeup?
Camilla and a few of the team offer airbrushing as an alternative method to traditional makeup application. If you wish to understand more about the difference then just ask and you can decide whether it is right for you.
Do you supply a top-up lip colour?
We will let you know which lip products we have used at the trial should you wish to purchase your own, alternatively we can swab a bit of lipstick onto a cotton bud but ideally you will need your own lipstick to reapply throughout the day – All other makeup should stay in place but unfortunately unless you plan on no eating, drinking (or kissing) throughout the day then the lips will most definitely need to be reapplied!
